Statement on the Martyrdom of Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh

The Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Brunei Darussalam issues a statement on the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh by the usurping Zionist Regime in Tehran.

In the name of God the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

      In a cowardly act, the Zionist regime assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, while he was a guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This heinous act by the criminal and usurping Zionist regime once again exposes the true nature of this occupying power to the world. This action by the child-killing Zionist regime on Iranian soil is a blatant violation of Iran's territorial sovereignty.

 

     The Islamic Republic of Iran vehemently condemns this cowardly and despicable assassination. The attempt to eliminate resistance leaders only underscores the weakness and incapacity of the Zionist regime in the face of the unwavering will of the Palestinian people and their legitimate resistance. The martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh will not weaken the resolve of the Palestinian nation in their struggle for the liberation of their occupied lands; rather, it will ignite the flames of resistance even further.

 

      We call upon the international community and all human rights organizations to not remain silent in the face of this atrocious crime and to take necessary actions to condemn and punish the perpetrators of this assassination. The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their resistance against the aggressions and crimes of the Zionist regime. Iran also reserves the right to respond appropriately to this brazen act by the Zionist regime.
