The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Brunei Darussalam condemns the Israeli regime’s assault on the consular building of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus.

This reprehensible act by the Israeli regime constitutes a blatant violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Furthermore, it represents a grave transgression of international law and the principles outlined in the UN Charter, as it encroaches upon the sovereignty of Syria and targets diplomatic facilities and personnel, thereby posing a threat to regional security and stability.

Such an assault on a diplomatic mission not only undermines the safety and security of diplomatic personnel but also contravenes the principles of sovereignty and non-interference that are cornerstones of international relations and diplomacy.

This despicable act underscores the terrorist nature of the Israeli regime, which, in the past six months alone, has ruthlessly claimed the lives of over 30,000 Palestinians. The Zionist regime of Israel represents a paramount threat to international peace, stability, and security.

The international community, alongside the United Nations, must unequivocally condemn this violation and take decisive steps to address and rectify this transgression. It is imperative that the aggressor is held fully accountable for its actions, which have blatantly disregarded the norms and conventions that govern peaceful and civilized interactions among nations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to investigating all facets of this incident and ensuring that justice is served. We stand resolute in our determination to safeguard our national sovereignty and the dignity of our nation on the international stage. Islamic Republic of Iran remains steadfast in its right to defend its missions and will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and dignity of its diplomatic entities globally.
